Are you someone who strives for excellence?

We firmly believe that we are all here to achieve greatness, be the best we can be and move and shake the world. There is nothing more satisfying than to overcome a challenge that you thought was impossible to overcome, nothing more fulfilling than to look back at who you were back then and realizing how much you have grown.

We are tirelessly striving for excellence, but what does personal excellence actually mean? It means we are striving to become the best possible version of who we are at our core. It means that we are willing to raise the bar of our own standards to become more and achieve more.

The first step towards achieving personal excellence starts with self-reflection and self-examination. We need to understand our strengths and weaknesses and examine our core values and beliefs. After years of pursuing personal excellence, we learned several key principles that will go a long way to bringing you to personal excellence. Here are our TOP 10 Key Principles to achieving excellence in life.

#1 Be Hungry for Excellence
You need to want to achieve personal excellence and the emphasis is on what YOU want, not what other people want. The goal you set for yourself needs to be something you really want because that’s the only way to have the drive to help you keep moving forward. There is no point in trying to achieve something that someone else set out for you because you are not being true to yourself and only waste your time. Aim for the best of what you want to achieve and be hungry for your goal.

#2 Believe in Yourself
It is incredibly important to believe in yourself, because if you don’t, how can you expect anyone else to believe in you. If you are striving for personal excellence and want to achieve greatness in your life, you first have to believe that you are capable of doing so. Know that you are the only person who can achieve what you want to do. If you believe it and set your mind to it, you can achieve it.

#3 Keep Building Your Skills
The path towards achieving personal excellence is a continuous journey that requires you to constantly upgrade and develop your skills. You’ve probably heard of the 10,000 hours rule to achieve mastery in any skill. Have you invested your 10,000 hours? And even if you did invest your 10,000 hours, there is always an opportunity to improve your skills and talents to be even better. Think about the skills you already have and the ones that you have yet to acquire and don’t ever stop building your skills.

#4 Get Out of Your Comfort Zone
Stepping out of your comfort zone is by default a step towards growth. Comfort zones are called that way because you feel safe and comfortable, which means there is little to no growth. If you start to move beyond your comfort zone, you expose yourself to new situations and the new context is a stimulus that triggers a process in your mind that forces you to learn how to adapt to the new situation, which means you need to grow. Push yourself out of your comfort zone so you can grow in all areas of your life.

#5 Be Around the Best
We’ve heard this all before… You are the average of the five people closest to you. So surround yourself with people who are committed to excellence and set themselves up to achieving nothing but the best. Cut yourself lose from people who are constantly lamenting about life and increase your interactions with the best. You want to surround yourself and connect with the cream of the crop to be inspired, motivated and supported to keep striving for your own personal excellence.

#6 Set Huge Goals
Don’t just set small goals, which you know you’ll easily achieve if you put in a little bit of work. Set huge goals, we are talking about humongous goals, that make you a little nervous or uncomfortable because you don’t know whether or not it is possible to even attain them. But those are the goals that will make you stretch yourself and grow tremendously. And think about the incredible satisfaction you will feel once you achieve them…

#7 Don’t Limit Yourself
Don’t be afraid to try whatever it takes to achieve your goal. Try every single thing out there because you don’t want to miss any opportunity that could lead you to your goal. Open yourself up to possibilities and don’t limit yourself to what you already know.

#8 Go All Out
As with everything else that is worth pursuing, you have to work hard. In order to achieve excellence you have to go all out. Once you work really hard, it is just a matter of time before results start rolling in. Hard work is the universal quality that will pay off in the long run.

#9 Be Adaptable
You probably know this already… Change is inevitable. So you can either be afraid of change and let it bring you down or you can see it as an opportunity for growth and learn how to adapt to the changed circumstances. Be ready for change and embrace change as the powerful pillar of excellence that it is.

#10 Never Give Up
There is no problem too big for you to handle. If it seems insurmountable in the beginning, break it into smaller pieces that are easier to handle. The important thing is that you never, ever give up. As long as you are trying, you are moving in the direction of making your dream a reality and eventually you will reach your goal.

Whether you wish to have better health, achieve higher levels of success, perform better, earn more money or want better relationships… You are capable of it all. You have all the potential in the world to do whatever it is that you are dreaming of. If you follow these key principles of how to achieve personal excellence, you will be able to achieve anything you want in life.
